Colon cancer's nature doesn't lend itself to high-profile fundraising or awareness campaigns. However, according to the Canadian Cancer Foundation, it will make up 10 percent of new cancer cases and cause 11 percent of cancer-related deaths. It affects men and women nearly equally.
